How do you face a traffic signal

Traffic lights are mainly for controlling the movement of traffic. They are commonly placed on roads at intersections and crossings. Traffic signals regulate traffic and also help to avoid heavy traffic blocks and various road accidents. Traffic signals are mainly based on three color lights. They are red, yellow and green. But each signal has a different meaning.

The red signal signifies to stop behind the stop line, the yellow signal denotes to wait or go slow, and the green signal indicates that the way is clear and the vehicles are allowed to go ahead.

As mentioned earlier, traffic signals help to control the flow of vehicles and pedestrians on roads. There are different types of traffic signals for specific purposes. The first one is the traffic control signal which is mainly for regulating the flow of the vehicle at intersections, and also for the safety of road users. Traffic control signals consist of red, yellow, and green. Then we have the pedestrians' signal which is for pedestrians can cross or not cross the lane signal.

Then we have a special signal or flashing signal that is used in specific situations such as school zones, construction zones, and emergency vehicle preemption.  A person can not drive as he wishes. He has to follow strictly the traffic signal to avoid road hazards and also prevent collisions. Traffic signals also can reduce traffic jams.

As we all know traffic signals can reduce various road hazards and vehicle collisions.

Importance of traffic lights

  • Reduce sudden collision of the vehicles
  • Can avoid various road hazards
  • For a smooth traffic movement
  • Road users safety

As a good driver, he has to always keep in mind that you have to always check traffic lights and signals for a safe journey. You have to beware of other vehicles and always take necessary precautions to avoid collisions at intersections. You have to slow down in the pedestrians crossing and wait till they pass. Besides you never try to help them to move fast and also use your horn to avoid traffic jams it will disturb other drivers, they will get fastly nervous, especially new drivers. So you have to wait and follow the traffic rules.  You have to be very careful and have good patience in traffic.
